Fashion Tips – Jewelry Today

Fashion Tips – Jewelry Today

Up until the late 90’s fashion was very strict about any “miss-matches;” it was either this or that. This went not only for the pieces themselves, but also for the styles; it was either classic or hippy, evening or sporty, party or work. Today is precisely the time for miss-matching. The separation of styles in fashion has become a “forgotten” attribute. Now one can wear a hippy skirt with chandelier earrings to Disneyland, or a classic dress with a feather  and leather necklace to a movie theater. Any stone, precious or otherwise, glass, plastic, different metals, leather, enamel, feathers can all be worn together, or even be combined in one piece. Big rings can be put on alongside a small pendant, and a gold diamond ring next to your silver one. Different colors, styles, “ethnic” pieces, or different eras, take your pick (of course it all has to match your style and outfit in its entirety).

As jewelry designer L Frank says , “I design jewelry that could be old or could be new.” He gets his inspiration from the Renaissance era while making his work look modern and new. Erica Courtney, in her turn, states  that her jewelry is “modern baroque.”

These new trends allow us to reuse in a new way the jewelry that we might have gotten tired of or even forgotten; they make it easier to shop, to get dressed, as well as feel more feminine and pretty.
